I have been told that Stargate Worlds is still being worked on, yet some of the SGW development team has decided to flex their FPS muscle...and they are not shooting blanks this time. FireSky's new upcoming PC shooter will be released Feb. 10, 2010 and goes by the name "Stargate Resistance". Cool Stargate terrains with a few character tricks to even the playing field per team. Stargate Resistance is a fast-paced and deadly 3rd person shooter for control of the entire galaxy!
The arrogant System Lords believe they are the true masters of the universe, and have begun a savage campaign to dominate and enslave the known worlds.Stargate Command operatives are the first line of defense against this menace. Small teams of brave agents use the Stargate to travel about the galaxy and parry the thrust of these alien overlords. Whichever side you choose, each battle will be one of wits, skill, and reflexes that can decide the fate of the entire galaxy!

In what has to be the classiest sounding pre-order incentive ever, gamers who reserve Assassin's Creed 2 at GameStop will get access to an exclusive in-game environment modeled after the famed Palazzo Medici, a Renaissance-era palace located in Florence, Italy.
Designed by the Italian architect Michelozzo di Bartolomeo, the Palazzo Medici was built for Cosimo de' Medici, of the powerful and influential Medici family. It was built between 1445 and 1460, and was, Wikipedia informs, "one of the numerous palazzo built during the period of Florentine prosperity." And with your pre-order, you'll be able to parkour your ass all around its interiors in Assassin's Creed 2 -- just as Michelozzo di Bartolomeo never intended!
This also means Assassin's Creed 2 now joins Forza 3, Madden NFL 10, and Tekken 6 on a growing list of upcoming games that offer some sort of exclusive bonus incentive when pre-order at GameStop. It's kind of nice that they're at least giving gamers a reason to be bombarded with offers to reserve these games, but wouldn't it be nicer to simply include these bonuses in the games no matter where you buy them from?

Looks like having to pacify angry protesters isn't the only trouble Valve has run into after announcing Left 4 Dead 2 at E3 earlier this month. As it turns out, they also had to modify the cover art, after the ESRB deemed the original artwork too graphic.
While Valve's good-humored blog post doesn't actually acknowledge the real change, the difference in the image is in two of the fingers. While the original artwork of this now iconic hand had the ring and pinky fingers torn off like the thumb, the new image -- as you can see here -- simply has them bent back. Oddly, the ESRB seems to have decided the torn-off thumb can stay, just as it could in the artwork for the first Left 4 Dead. We can only imagine this is similar to how the MPAA only allows so many uses of the F-word in a PG-13 movie, and the ESRB official guidelines must now state something along the lines of "only one (1) torn-off appendage is allowable in a game's cover art."
Regardless, Left 4 Dead 2 is set for release on November 17... whether every L4D fan likes it or not.
