Blizzard pushed some major upgrades to World of Warcraft's Armory page today (via Massively), enabling several post-3.02 patch features on the MMORPG's character profile site. Tabs cataloging players' Achievements, in-game calendars, and ridiculously detailed general statistics have all been added to the site, allowing for easy reference -- or extra-creepy stalking -- from any internet-enabled computer.
Why would you ever need to know how many times your Warlock has hugged other players? Who knows? But you'll probably be very thankful for the new-and-improved Armory if the question ever comes up. |

According to a report from Ars Technica, after only 27 hours of Wrath of the Lich King being available, Nymh, a Warlock on the European server Drek'thar, has already hit level 80, the new level cap introduced in the expansion. Nymh's time to reach the cap is just one hour under the 28 hours it took French player named Gullerbone to make the jump from 60 to 70, shortly after the launch of the last expansion pack, The Burning Crusade, raised the cap the first time.
In an interview with MMO-Champion, Nymh says:
"The biggest problem was to find a spot with enough monsters to grind without too much downtime. I spent some time on beta servers and eventually found the crypt in Drakil'ji Ruins (Grizzly Hills), I think that's one of the only place[s] in Wrath of the Lich King where monsters repop in about 30 seconds, mobs here are also neutral and it makes grinding a little safer."
Of course, he couldn't have done it without some help. Nymh admits his friend Pavelomm "was nice enough to spend the last 27 hours healing me" and adds "he obviously played a huge role in the process."
Although, Nymh is technically the first, Athene, the self-described "best paladin in the world," was on pace to claim that title until he was banned at level 79 for exploiting the leveling system. In comparison, he had only been playing for 13 hours.

Not even a week removed from the launch of the second expansion to World of Warcraft, and Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime is already talking about future expansions. In an interview with MTV Multiplayer, Morhaime admitted that Blizzard is already thinking about what to include in the massively popular MMO's next expansion although -- for now -- they remain completely focused on Wrath of the Lich King. Obviously it's far too early to go into any specifics as to what the contents might be. He did, however, say, "[W]e will continue making expansions as long as we have players that want to play World of Warcraft -- we want to keep them entertained."
Asked if that means Blizzard will be making expansions forever, Morhaime replied, "Well, probably not forever. But for the foreseeable future, we'd like to be doing regular expansions." That sounds good, but what constitutes "regular" expansions? Blizzard originally said it wanted to release expansions every year, but the span between The Burning Crusade and Wrath was nearly two years. Are yearly releases still the plan?
