Dead Rising 2 Skipping E3 PDF Print E-mail
Posted by Scotty on Thursday, 21 May 2009
ImageApparently, the undead are still susceptible to influenza. Kotaku reports that Capcom has decided not to show Dead Rising 2 at E3 in June, due to international travel precautions over the swine flu outbreak in Osaka, Japan.

"Our Capcom guys are not coming to E3 because of the Japanese government restrictions," said Chris Kramer, senior director, communications and community. "The company is taking the advisory very seriously."

It's not a surprising announcement, considering Dead Rising 2 executive producer Keiji Inafune also recently canceled an appearance at Nordic Game 2009, also due to swine flu precautions. Kramer explained that while Capcom will still be showing their other upcoming titles at E3, they decided to take Dead Rising 2 out of the show as Inafune and other Japanese staff won't be attending. "Dead Rising 2 is the only game we won't be able to showcase at E3, because it's at an early stage of development and the team is not comfortable having anyone else demo the code," he said.

Hopefully this won't mean we'll have to wait too much longer to finally get a look at how Dead Rising 2 is shaping up.
